Back in October, we went down to Panama City Beach, Florida, to meet up with our best friends, the Morris family- Danny, Paige, Fletcher and Finn. Adam & I met Danny & Paige while living out in Las Vegas. I was in a Pet Bakery (yes, I said a Pet Bakery) to get Walker some treats, when I saw this cute little couple. They were talking to the people behind the counter. I heard the girls strong southern draw, and saw the guys Auburn University t-shirt and automatically knew that they were my kind of people (although, it would've been much better if it'd been a UGA t-shirt)! ;) I sparked up a conversation with them, telling them that my husband & I were from Georgia, but living in Las Vegas. And, they explained that they would be moving to Vegas in a few months, for Danny to attend Med-school, and were out looking for a house to buy. We chatted for a while and then, hesitantly, Paige said "we should exchange phone numbers." We did and said our goodbye's, nice-to-meet-you's, and went on our way. I left thinking that I would never hear from them again, but hoping that I would. Fast forward a few months, it was July 2nd, I was in the shower and could hear my phone ringing, but didn't get to it in time. When I got out, I checked my voicemail and it was Paige. She said something along the lines of: "Hey, this is Paige Morris. I'm not sure if you remember me, but my husband, Danny, and I met you in the Pet Store. We have officially moved out here to Vegas and would love to hang out sometime." I immediately called her back and invited them to come out on our boat with us the next day, to Lake Mead. They did, and we have been inseperable ever since! The four of us did everything together over the next couple of years. Then, we found out that Adam had gotten the job that he'd applied for in Savannah, and that we would be moving back to Georgia. Poor Paige started sobbing when I told her the news. Of course, she was happy for us, but we had become the best of friends and we all knew that it was going to be hard to leave each other behind. I am so thankful that God led us to that Pet Bakery that day. Adam and I made lifelong best friends out of that encouter. I'm not sure if we'll ever live in the same place again, but I know that we will remain the best of friends throughout life! :) When we left Las Vegas to move back to Georgia, I was about 13 weeks pregnant with Jackson. Since then, we've had Jackson, about 5 months later, Danny & Paige had there first little boy, Fletcher, and about 20 months later, welcomed their second little boy, Finn! They now live in Michigan, where Danny is doing his residency as an Orthopedic Surgeon. All of their family are still in Alabama & Georgia, so they come down at least once a year to visit. And, ever since we left Vegas, we have met up with them at Paige's Daddy's beach house in Panama City....for a few days of catching up and fun! I hope it's a tradition that we never stop doing. I can just see our boys now, as teenagers, riding up & down the Panama City strip together. I'm not sure that any of us are ready for that...can you say TROUBLE?! ;) Anywho, here are a few pictures from our last get together in PCB, October 2012. I'd have to say that, as far as the weather is concerned, it was the most beautiful trip that we've had to PCB. I have never seen the water so clear and bright blue/green! Danny wasn't able to make it this time, due to work, and Adam wasn't able to make it the year before, due to fighting a huge wildfire. So, hopefully we'll ALL be able to make it to our next meet up! But, regardless, Paige & I always have a great time! :)
I started this post a few days ago. But, I'd say a few days is better than 6 months, so I'm considering myself to be on a blogging roll! ;) On a sad note, tonight is the last night of my spring break and tomorrow, it's back to reality. We've had a wonderful time, but I'll have to save that for a later post! For now, it's time for this tired girl to hit the sack...good night!
