Let's go back a year...

It happens to me every year. When the weather starts changing, I get nostalgic. It takes me back in time one year. What was going on in my life then? What was I doing at this time last year? Maybe that's a totally normal thing and it happens to everyone. But, it's always happened to me, without fail. When the seasons change, I think of my life the last time it was this season and take a trip down Memory Lane. So, since I have been TERRIBLE about keeping our blog up-to-date, I've decided to share some pictures of just what was going on in our lives last Spring. I know that it's not actually "Spring" yet, but today was our first very warm day in quite a while. It was the first day that made me feel like Spring is just around the corner and Winter is on it's way out! So, in honor of my reminiscing (and my not posting ANYTHING on our blog last Spring) here is a look at our Spring 2010.
Jackson had his 6 month pictures made in February. Which should technically be called his "7 month pictures" ;).

He went to his 6 month check-up and was said to be "perfect" (which I already knew! ;)) And was no longer an "exclusively breastfed baby". He was now on baby food (which I made myself for the first few months and thought it was the MOST fun!) Hilarious how much our ideas of "fun" change after we become Mommy's? :)

Jackson was LOVING life in his highchair (which became one of his favorite places to be and one of Mommy's life-savers when she had chores to get done) and being able to sit-up and scoot around! Apparently mobile life is much more fun!

Last Spring was also the time that I decided to let Jackson start rocking a fauxhawk! His hair was the perfect length and well honestly, I just thought it was too stinkin' cute! We got compliments everywhere we went! He even rocked his fauxhawk when he was all dressed up in his Sunday Best and headed to church. :)

We went to St. Patrick's Day Parades, took lots of jogs around the island and of course, celebrated Jackson's first Easter! :)

Last Spring was a blast and filled with great memories! Our baby was growing up and becoming more & more FUN by the day, the azaleas were blooming and the weather was gorgeous. What more could you ask for?? I had an experience today that took me back to last Summer and began to give me a little taste of "Summer Fever." I'll have to save that for my next post... :)

Boys will be Boys....

Our little Jackson is definitely ALL BOY! There is nowhere that he'd rather be than outside and he is obsessed with all things BOY: tractors, trains, dump trucks, airplanes, dirt, balls, police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, anything that he can throw, anything that's big & loud, all forms of transportation and the Georgia Bulldogs (he will ball his fist and say "WOOF WOOF WOOF" at the sight of anything UGA, without any prompting. It is hilarious!) He also thinks that ALL football games are the Bulldogs and ALL football stadiums/fields that we pass are also the Bulldogs. What can I say? We're teaching him early. :) Anyway, here are a few pictures of some of J's favorite pastimes:
PLAYING OUTSIDE:

Playing in the "BOOAAT"!

I thought that this picture that Mr. Howard took of Adam & I was sweet. I love my husband! :)
BLOWING OFF THE DRIVE-WAY WITH DADDY! He absolutely LOVES to do this and will walk to our storage closet (where we keep the blower) and point at the door yelling "BOW" until we give in and get it out!

Yes, he chases our child with the Blower. And yes, we let our child run around the front yard in his P.J.'s. :)

RIDING HIS FIRE TRUCK! This Fire Truck entered our house a few days after Christmas (thank you Uncle Matthew & Aunt Michaela) and I don't think a day has gone by that he hasn't taken it for a ride. Nor has a day gone by that it doesn't randomly blurt out (all on it's own) "GREAT WORK! THE FIRE IS OUT!" I'm talking when nobody else is even in the room. I swear the thing is possessed! ;)

EATING, EATING, EATING! I just LOVE these two pictures! What a Stinker. :) Can you guess what we had for dinner this night? Yes...Spaghetti! It is one of J's favorite meals and I must strip him down to his diaper before handing him his plate. :)

Eating my oatmeal like such a BIG boy! He now insists on feeding himself and thinks that he needs utensils with every meal....even a grilled cheese sandwich. But, I must say, he's pretty good at it and rarely makes TOO big of a mess (except for Spaghetti nights!) Just another reminder that my baby boy is growing up. :(

CHEESE! This is what Jackson has started doing when he sees a camera and you tell him to "SMILE". How adorable is that?! I think he looks just like his Nay-Nay (Adam's Mom) when he does this! :) I LOVE THIS LITTLE BOY SO MUCH!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMA!

I just wanted to take the time to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the BEST Momma (and Mimi) in the world! If I can only be HALF of the Mother that you are, I will call it a day. :) I LOVE YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!

Love,
Your baby girl

And do you see WHY I love this woman so much?? This is a picture of us all dressed up for "Mismatch Day" at work (don't we look FABULOUS?!) So, not only is she a wonderful Mother, she knows how to have FUN! (She is probably going to kill me for posting this picture. hehe. Love you, Mom! ;))

More pictures of Jackson :)

Sorry guys, these posts are a little out of order. These are pictures that were taken a few months ago, and I TRIED to post them on my blog at the time (with no luck.) So, I just saved them as a draft in my posts and totally forgot about them. I came across them today and decided to try again, and it worked (YAY!) This is when Jackson was first going through his phase of insisting on feeding himself, since these photos were taken, I can assure you that he has gotten MUCH better at actually landing the food in his MOUTH. ;) P.S. I promise that I am working at becoming more blog savvy. ;)

Trick-or-Treat!

Here are some pictures of our little pumpkin. He had so much fun this Halloween! Adam was out of town for work, so we spent the evening at my parents house (aka-Mimi & Papa's house.) In their neighborhood, the kids do a "Trick-or-Treat Hayride" and we were invited. Jackson had a BLAST! He thought riding on a Tractor, or "BRRMM BRRMM", was the most fun! It didn't take him long to catch on to the whole trick-or-treating deal. He watched the big kids and followed along, holding his pumpkin bag out, watching the candy drop in, looking down into his bag, laughing with approval and then walking off. It was hilarious to watch! Of course, his mean Mama didn't let him have any of the candy (that went to the Treasure Box in my classroom), but he never knew the difference and had a blast anyway! :) He also LOVED his pumpkin costume and thought it was hysterical in the mirror. On another note, Adam and I went to Athens this past weekend for the UGA game. It was a baby-free weekend with old memories and even older friends. We had a GREAT time! It was fun to pretend that we were college students again, only to find out that we are most definitely not! We learned that although it may seem like it was only yesterday that we were living in Athens and hanging with the best of them, in our minds, our bodies tell us differently. ;) But it was great to get away together, and have some hubby & wifey time in a place that holds so many wonderful memories for us. Have I mentioned how much we miss that place?? P.S. I have also included some cute pictures of Jackson, around the house, taken over the past couple of weeks. Have a great weekend! Today marked my "Friday" and I am going to fully enjoy my 4 day weekend...woop woop!
