Jackson Funnies...

I have been working diligently (sort of) to catch up with our past year and bring my posts to our present day. I haven't quite made it there, but I am getting close! :) For this post, I want to put all of that aside and focus on the funny, hilarious, cute and sometimes slightly inappropriate things that comes out of my sweet boys mouth! Jackson turned 3 on July 4th and seems to get funnier, and act more "3", by the day. I want to go ahead and get these things down so that I don't forget them. Here are a few of the "Jackson Funnies" that have been said over the past week or so: Every morning, Jackson & I drive into Hinesville. This is where I work and where his beloved Sitter, Mrs. Ruby, lives. The drive from our house to Mrs. Ruby's is about 25-30 minutes every morning & afternoon. So, we have a lot of time for conversation in the car, and there's always lots of "funnies" involved! :) This is how one went on our way into town one morning last week:

Jackson: Mommy, there's you's school! (pointing at the school where I work, as we passed by.)
Me: Yep. There's Mommy's school. You're going to start coming to Mommy's school next year, you'll be big enough then.
Jackson: (while holding up hand and waving it in the air) Oh no, noooo. I not be big enough. I can't go to you's school. I not big enough, I just TINYYYY.
Me: (laughing) Oh, I'm sorry. You're just tiny? Well, I thought you were a big boy and could come to Mommy's school next year.
Jackson: No, No. I can't. I can't got to you's school. I just cute & tiny.
Me: (laughing out loud) Oh, well excuse me. I'll just tell them that you're not coming to Pre-K next year because you're just cute & tiny.
Jackson: uh-huh.

Another day on the way home:

Me:  Jackson, Mommy doesn't feel very well.
Jackson: (with his very concerned face) Oh nooo, Mommy.  I need to take you to the Doctor.  I take you to Doctor Seibert and he give you some medicine.  Then you can lay on the couch and I get you cubbers (covers) and milk.

Jackson has the same bedtime routine every single night.  We read 2 books, a bible story, say our prayers, and then sing "hush little baby" and "Jesus loves me".  So, this is how bedtime went just one night last week:

Me:  Ok, let's sing Jesus loves me. (I begin to sing and Jackson joins in)
Us singing together:  "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.  Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong.  Yes Jesus loves me...
Jackson (interrupting the song):  No, he loves ME Momma, he loves MEEE.  He not loves YOOO-U!
Me:  Jesus loves Mommy too!  Jesus loves all of us.
Jackson:  But, not Daddy.
Me:  Yes, Jesus loves Daddy.
Jackson:  Well, he not loves Walker.
Me:  Yes, Jesus loves Walker.  He loves Doggies too.
Jackson:  But, him not loves Kitty Cats.
Me:  Yes, he loves kitty cats, too.  Jesus loves all the people and all the animals.  Now, let's finish singing the song so that you can go to bed.
Jackson (continues singing):  Yes, Jesus loves MEEEEE (while pointing his finger at himself), yes Jesus loves MEEEE, yes Jesus loves MEEE.  The Bible tells me so.
He is such a little stinker, sometimes.  He seriously cracks me up!

Speaking of bedtime, we had a very interesting one this week.  It was similar to the incident above, but even better!  Our lives have been a little (or a lot) disheveled over the past few weeks, because Adam has been fighting fires in Oklahoma.  He is coming home TODAY after 18 very looong days of being gone.  Jackson & I are beside ourselves with excitement!  Daddy makes our lives so much better! :)  When Adam is away, it is obviously up to me to hold down the fort and play the single Mommy role.  Which is no fun, just so you know! ;)  I usually manage these times that Adam is away by staying on a strict schedule and running a tight ship.  Don't get me wrong, I do find time to squeeze in a little fun for us.  But, if I don't stick to a tight schedule during the work week, we would never make it!  So, with that said, for the past few weeks, supper, bath & bedtime have all been up to me.  And, after a few days of this, Jackson begins to "test" me.  I'm sure part of it is because he misses his Daddy.  But I'm also sure that is part of it is to drive his Mommy crazy.  No doubt. ;)  Anyway, several nights that I have put him to bed, he lays back there yelling "MOMMY.  Come lay with me.  MOMMY, please come lay with me.  You HALF (have) to come lay with me."  And this is repeated over, and over, and over.  Now, y'all should know that I am a pretty tough one when it comes to this type of thing.  I let him lay back there, hollering, until he finally gives up and goes to bed.  Mostly because I do not want to give in and this become a habit....he's way too smart for that.  And, partly because when Adam is away, I literally get NOTHING done for the next day, until Jackson is in bed.  So, when I put Jackson to bed, I usually still have to: wash the dishes and clean the kitchen from dinner, clean up the bathroom from bathtime, get mine & Jackson's clothes ready for the next day, pack lunches, and take my shower. **note**when Adam is home all I have to do off of that list is take a shower and get my clothes ready.  I'm spoiled, I know. ;)**   So, back to bedtime.  The other night I put Jackson down and he seemed to go down easily.  After about 10 minutes of silence, I suddenly hear "MOMMY!  Come lay with me.  I need you to come lay with me!"  Followed by "Glory Glory to Old Georgia" coming from his stuffed UGA and a loud GO DAWGS! (right on cue, might I add).  This continued for about 15 minutes!  Yelling for me, then "Glory Glory to Old Georgia" followed by a very loud "GO DAWGS!"  Every. single. time.  I must admit that although I would rather him have been sleeping, the whole charade seriously cracked me up.  I never gave in or reponded (and he finally fell asleep), but I sure did laugh out loud a few times. ;) 

Our little boy is growing up and getting funnier & more entertaining by the day.  He is full of spunk & personality and I love it!  I'm sure that there will be many more "Jackson funnies" to post in the future.  We love you, silly little rascal and can't wait to see what God has in store for you! :)

Let's catch up, Part 3...

I am still trying to catch up with our past year.....I'm getting there, slowly but surely. Here is a little of our Springtime Fun! Our first beach day of 2012 was sometime in Mid March. The weather was gorgeous and I had the day off, so I decided to load Jackson up and head to the beach! We had a great "Mommy & Jackson" day. Although it is a lot of work, I really do enjoy those days when it is just me and my little guy. He is so much FUN! :)

"Movie & Popcorn Night" is one of Jackson's very favorite things to do. The child is pretty much obsessed with popping popcorn and watching a movie. He asks to do so nearly every night, and during the Summer we were more than happy to oblige (it makes for a great family night and it's easy). But, now that we're back on "school time" and in the swing of things, he has to settle for only Friday or Saturday nights being our "Movie & Popcorn" night. :) Walker is usually lying right by his side. Jackson would like to think it's because they're the best of friends, but I'm thinking more along the lines of hoping that he'll get to snatch up a little stray popcorn. ;)

Let's Catch up, Part 2...

Well, I have caught up on the first half of our year since last Summer. Now, it's time for the 2nd half. I am hoping to breeze through this so that I can get to our present day...we'll see how well that goes. ;) ~Winter Fun 2012~

This is the first time that you tried out your Froggy potty and you were so excited! :) It wasn't until about 4 months later that you became fully potty trained, but at least Mr. Froggy encouraged you to get use to the idea of putting it somewhere other than your diaper!

Enjoying your beloved yogurt pops. You often ask "Mommy, you make me a cake pop, pwease?" You're a little obsessed with Starbuck's cake pops and I guess it's all the same to you? ;)

In February we took our very first family trip to DISNEY WORLD! NayNay & Grandaddy came with us and we had an AWESOME time! NayNay & I had a short break from work, so we decided that it would be a GREAT time for your first trip to Disney! The weather wasn't too hot and your admission to the Park was free up until your 3rd birthday. I'm so thankful that we decided to give it a shot! I was a little worried that you still may be too young. I wasn't sure how you would feel about the rides or if the characters would freak you out. But, you proved me wrong and made me one proud Mommy! :) I'd hoped that it would be a wonderful time, but it surpassed all of my expectations! We absolutely had a blast and you LOVED every second of it! We decided that since this was your first trip to Disney and you weren't quite 3 years old, it would be best if we kept it small. So, we decided to just vivsit the Magic Kingdom. When we arrived in Orlando, we got settled into our hotel (the Gaylord Palms, which was A-MAZING) and headed to Downtown Disney for the evening. You loved visiting the T-Rex Cafe and Lego store! Then, we woke up bright & early the next morning and headed to the Magic Kingdom! You were SO excited and shrilled with excitement when we first spotted the Castle on the monorail, during the ride over. You also were beside yourself to ride the monorail or as you called it, "The Bullet Train". :) Once inside the Magic Kingdom, we headed straight for the Buzz Lightyear ride and after that, you were HOOKED! We rode every ride there (that you were tall enough to ride) and you loved them all! Not once did you fuss or complain! We went hard until lunch time, had lunch at the park, headed back to the hotel for nap, and then headed back to Magic Kingdom to hit up the other half of the park that we'd left unturned! We ended up staying until after 11:00 p.m. for the firework show and you were such a TROOPER! We made it back to the hotel around midnight and crashed! You had a death grip on your new Mickey & Donald and still sleep with them to this day. :) You continue to ask when we are going back to "The Castle" and SQUEAL with excitement every time that you see a Disney World commercial! Daddy & I had so much fun that we are hoping to take you back sometime this Fall, so hopefully I will have another Disney post to put up soon! But, until then, here are a few pictures from your VERY FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD! :)

As we came off of the Buzz Lightyear ride (I can't remember the "real" name of it), Buzz was standing outside, taking pictures and signing autographs! You were SO excited to see him, but got a little shy once it was our turn. I mean, it has to be pretty intimidating to be meeting one of your all-time favorite heros live and in person?! Buzz stamped your autograph book and by the time we left, you gave him a high five. :)

Headed home the next morning...with all of your loot! I tried to get you to buy the big Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, to sit on your bed. But, you INSISTED on the little ones! I guess they just felt better in your little hands. I thought it was kind of sweet! Just the other morning, on the way to Mrs. Ruby's house, you said: "Mommy, when we go back to Castle, I want to get a Goofy. And a Minnie Mouse. I need a Goofy and Minnie for my Duck and Mickey." So, I guess I know what we'll be bringing home from our next trip. ;)

I am going to leave off here and call it a night! We have SO enjoyed our weekend, but it's back to the grind tomorrow and this girls gotta hit the sack! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
